I want to start a website and need some help.. ?

I want to start a website that is my anonymous diary, also with other things to support my business so it will be like a lifestyle/ self improvement site. Anyway I have the plan in my head but, I don't know where to start or what the cost will be to start a quality website. If anyone can help with what I need to do it'd be much appreciated.

How can I sell tickets to an event?

Im starting a business and its a 3 day seminar on the areas of self improvement, business and health. Its a great even, we have people from Tony Robbins ffs, and its only $74 for the whole 3 days! I am trying to sell just 500 tickets and Im having a hard time of it which seems ridiculous when you look at the value. So Im wondering what Im doing wrong and what I can do right?

I am looking for a website full of judgmental people that tear you apart and criticize you. The purpose of doing is that I need people like this so I can start a massive self-improvement project and needs lot of people to be critical of my lifestyle and how I do things. hello. I am having a moment of extreme self doubt, because until literally about an hour ago I was under the impression that I was an alright writer.I posted a bit of my writing (something I made up on the spot) on a website to get some feed back, and an hour later I had a 2/5 rating and no comments. Normally this wouldn't bug me, but when i checked, stories that had been posted after mine had been viewed hundreds of times and been given pages of comments. Is my writing really that awful?
So I thought i'd put up a snippet from a story I'm working on currently, and see if I could get some feedback. This is just the beginning of the story, so if it doesn't make sense, then sorry :)
Any advice on improvement and honest opinions would be great

I have an inquisitive mind. At least, that’s what it said in my end of year ten school report, although these words were followed by “but does not tend to apply this talent in a practical way. Needs to work harder if she wishes to succeed.”
I have never really understood the need for school reports to be honest. Most people I know just throw them away, so why my mother feels the need to slot it into a plastic sheet and file it away with all my other school reports in a neat row for “future employers to look at” is beyond me. After all, why would I want to show “future employers” just how much of a failure as a human being I am?
And in all the ways that count, I am a failure as a human being, at life in general actually. If I had any friends they would call me Jode like my twin sister Caitlin does, but to the rest of the world I am Jodi. Jodi Elizabeth Miller. Sixteen years old, female, reader of too many books and terrible at everything else.
The first thing people generally notice ababout me when they first meet me is my sister.
We could honestly not be any more different if we tried. In fact, pretty much the only thing we share at all is a date of birth and parents. People are always surprised that we are sisters, let
let alone twins, and to tell the truth sometimes I am surprised too, especially when we are standing side by side, when the contrast is the most obvious. Caitlin is, in a word, perfect. She has long blond hair that waves gently down to the middle of her back, everything perfectly proportioned with everything else, light blue eyes and a fantastic smile that could melt any serial killers heart. She is stunning, and everyone agrees. Wherever we go, heads turn, jaws drop, girls turn green with envy and boys (and men) drool. Ever since we hit puberty in fact, it seems that everyone has been lusting after my sister, and even before that when we were kids she was always the “adorable one” according to my crabby grandmother from whom I was named after.
(Just so you know, this one was not made up on the spot. This one i have been working on for over a year, but only in the past few months have put into words. And i'm trying so hard not to be cocky when i say this, but i really doubt anyone could guess what happens ;) you can try if you like)

I have a website advertising my 'artwork'. But when I search for it in google or yahoo it never shows up. I type in very specific search requests and as few as five results show up, none of which are linked to the actual site only myspace pages where I have friends. If I were to search for less descriptive words there would be no reference to my site at all. What can I do to make my site appear in search results, preferably as high as possible, of course, but appearing at all would be a significant improvement. Hi. I've been having a lot of trouble finding the right book on self-improvement. I am very confused. Some say one thing, others say the very opposite.

I would like to know wether some kind of organization (respected psychology association) exists that makes some list of approved books by them.

I am just tired of wasting my time reading useless stuff from people who are not serious and just want to make money. And I'm not sure how can I distinguish the good books from the bad.

I really would like something to guide me. An association, a website that publishes a list of good self-improvement books, etc.

I am setting up a website with inspirational qoutations, and plan to have a nice design (either hand drawn or photography of nature). I expect to have advertisers from the "self improvement" industry to advertise on my site. But i am new to this adsense business, and just learnt the meaning of CPM and CPC.
