Question: Question regarding REBT-CBT and BPD?
( Back )
Answer #1:
Hi again SinDelle, I answered one of your previous questions. In case you don't remember I too have BPD.
I hate to say it, but it does sound like your husband not only has BPD, but also has some amount of cognitive impairment.
Borderlines, like myself, do have the ability to evaluate their thoughts and behavior although most do it after the fact.
You would do best to find a therapist who is less rigid and presumptive. Meaning mostly one who does recognize the disorder and is flexible in treating it. Some amount of coaching may be necessary on your behalf.
I have thought about your previous question and am genuinely concerned. I wish you the best and am pulling for you.
